Nerwin Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Hey guys,I need some advice on getting a TV Tuner that is under $60.00.That will work with this mointor:http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...0938&CatId=1410Thanks guys
RyanVM Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 (edited) I've got a Leadtek WinFast TV2000 Deluxe personally. Works fine. However, if you're willing to expand your price range just a little bit, this is one of the best analog tuner cards you can get (IMO):http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16815117802$65 after MIR (There's also a regular PCI version if you don't have any PCIe x1 slots on your motherboard) Edited May 22, 2006 by RyanVM
Nerwin Posted May 23, 2006 Author Posted May 23, 2006 What about thease:http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...&Tab=0&NoMapp=0http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...1048731&CatId=0
RyanVM Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 The first thought that comes to mind is "Eww, Tiger Direct." The second thought is, you get what you pay for.But I suppose you don't really lose a whole lot if you go with either of those, so you could always give it a try. But if it were my money, I'd probably get something which is known to be of higher quality (ATI Theater 550 = yummy)
Nerwin Posted May 23, 2006 Author Posted May 23, 2006 (edited) how about thease: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...1747755&CatId=0http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...1461034&CatId=0http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...2155595&CatId=0EDIT:I need a tv tuner card that will replace a TV. rendrag Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 as far as TV tuners go, none of those are really bad tuners. The HDTV tuner only does HDTV over the air, not over the cable line, so don't think you can hook it up to your cable/satellite line and start recording HD.the HD tuner is the best one of the bunch, w/ the woner elite coming in 2nd
Nerwin Posted May 23, 2006 Author Posted May 23, 2006 I dont need HDTV so I might go with ATI TV Wonder Elite.
RyanVM Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 (edited) The TV Wonder uses the same chip as the one I linked you to FWIW Edited May 23, 2006 by RyanVM
03GrandAmGT Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Well if you plan on going to a Home Theatre situation later, you might want to look at this one. It is covered by MOST if NOT ALL 3rd party software for home theatre applications including MythTV (Linux). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16815116602jdHome Theatre SystemMOBO: Abit AN7 CPU: AMD 3200XPRAM: 512 Megs Ram Vid.
