The first thought that comes to mind is "Eww, Tiger Direct." The second thought is, you get what you pay for.

But I suppose you don't really lose a whole lot if you go with either of those, so you could always give it a try. But if it were my money, I'd probably get something which is known to be of higher quality (ATI Theater 550 = yummy)

as far as TV tuners go, none of those are really bad tuners. The HDTV tuner only does HDTV over the air, not over the cable line, so don't think you can hook it up to your cable/satellite line and start recording HD.

Well if you plan on going to a Home Theatre situation later, you might want to look at this one. It is covered by MOST if NOT ALL 3rd party software for home theatre applications including MythTV (Linux).
