need a working way to silent install

I have searched the forum and found alot of switches which made me confused so i need the tested and working switches to install messenger and .net framwork..

for dotnet you can use the following command:

start "install dotnet 2.0" /wait c:\install\\dotnetfx.exe /q:a /c:\"install /l /q\"

Er... for .NET I extract the files from WinRar and run

%.net2%\install.exe /qn /norestart

For messenger, if it comes in an msi then

msnmsgs.msi /qn /norestart

For WL Messenger you have to extract the files from the exe
