Nerwin Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Hey guys how can you access your music and videos from a remote place.I dont want to put like 10 gigs of music/video on to my new laptop so what i'm asking is how to listen to your music files from a remote area (EX, Work, School, ETC) how can I do that? for free that is.I really want it to work with Itunes.
rendrag Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 could set up an ftp server and access it that way. that's not too difficult. It doesn't integrate with Itunes, but it's one of the only ways I can think of to access your itunes remotely
gamehead200 Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Set up Hamachi ( http://www.hamachi.cc ) on both computers, create a network on one computer and add your other computer to the created network, open iTunes on the computer that has your music and make sure sharing is on. Go on your remote computer, open iTunes, and the shared music from the other computer should show up.This is an almost-no-setup-needed VPN. No ports have to be opened since it is UDP-based. I use it on all of my computers. When I'm at school and need to access one of my other computers, I just put in the Hamachi IP address of the computer I want to access and it works!!
