Windows XP Installation Bootup

Hi,

I run Windows XP. Recently, I thought I had to reinstall windows so I inserted my cd and began reinstalling the OS. The installation client asked me whether I wanted to download a newer installation file. I sayd yes. Shortly before the actual installation process began, I aborted the process. Ever since then I have this annoying option every time I boot my computer which asks me whether I want to install windows or start windows normally. It is the same option tyope one has when one runs 2 operating systems. How can I get rid of this???

Can you do a Registry Restore to a time before all this hate and discontent started?

If not....check your Boot.ini file.

You may have to edit it, to get it back to normal.

Edit boot.ini in the root of your boot drive to remove the unneeded entry.

I did a search for "boot.ini" Windows could not find anything...

This is a hidden system folder. it should be on your root OS drive (i.e. C:\). you may have to go into folder options and enable hidden and super hidden files.
