I did it finally..boot screen edit

Featured Replies

Hi all finally i have found a WORKING way to edit the boot screen in winxp without editing the kernel file and this way is works after the runonceex is excuted...

i have just made a silent installer by using winrar to delete boot.ini from c: and add the moded boot.ini which have the boot logo command..thats all..ofcourse i have included the boot.bmp file in the $oem$ folder under $$ folder to be copied to win directory..thats the file if you need it just add it to your runonceex.cmd without any switches as it is already silent...

just 1 thing... what about if you don't install on C: (aka first active partition)?

answer is that you're setup will be screwed up on a second.

just for people to be careful with this, be sure at the time of replacing boot.ini or even better, just use the command line tool provided by windows.
