Team South East Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Hi Guys,Im new here and I have a bit of a problem that has been buggin me for a while. I have 3 PC's. 2 of them are running windows XP pro. They are both networked via a hub. I have just built a new PC with windows server 2003 on it, I plugged that PC into my Hub but i cannot get an internet connection. Does anybody know how i can get an Internet connection in windows server 2003?
nitroshift Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 a bit more details needed. what kind of connection are you talking about? have you had any before getting the server?
Team South East Posted April 29, 2006 Author Posted April 29, 2006 I have a broadband connection. Basically the other two PC's running XP Pro can connect to the internet. I used the normal "Set Up Home or Office Network" feature in windows XP to configure the network. 1 PC is connected to my modem router and the other PC connects through a network Hub. The 3rd PC running Windows Server 2003 is connected to my HUB. How do i get the 3rd PC to share the PC's running XP pro's internet connection.
Grunth0s Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 hmmm...If you are using Internet Connection Sharing on one of your PC's, and all of the machines are in the same IP address range (which they should be if you haven't touched them!), then Internet on your 2003 machine should work.Just make sure in your LAN settings for IE (on the 2003 machine), you have the Automatcally Detect Settings box ticked, as it will probably be looking locally for a net connection.
Team South East Posted May 1, 2006 Author Posted May 1, 2006 everythinig is configured correctly. I cannot understand y it is not working. any other suggestions.
