mattyh_82 Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 I have changed the logon bitmaps in msgina.dll and is working fine but can't seem to find where the bitmap for the Windows Shutdown Dialog is. This is the dialog that comes up when you click shutdown in classic mode. Have tried changing the same bitmaps in shell32.dll but this doesn't seem to work.Any ideas anyone?
spazmire11 Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 its in shell32.dll which can be found in your system32 folder.
mattyh_82 Posted April 24, 2006 Author Posted April 24, 2006 i have tried modifying the bitmaps resources 131 and 138 in shell32.dll using Resource Hacker and ResEdit, copying shell32.dll to both system32 and system32\dllcache folders, and it still isnt working. Have searched my drive for other copies of shell32.dll to see if windows is copying from another file but there isnt any.I'm running WinXP SP2, does this matter?
EchoNoise Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Uh... Its not in shell32.dllIts in msgina.dllthank you come again!
mattyh_82 Posted April 24, 2006 Author Posted April 24, 2006 Thanks for confirming that undeadsoldier. Finally found out what was going on. Seems the 'Shut Down Windows' dialog doesn't read the GinaDLL registry tweak. Have to replace the actual msgina.dll in system32 (and dllcache just to be sure)Thanks for your help.
