Random/Double Installs

er hi,

im sorta new to unattended installing and the likes, but ive picked up quickly.

anyhow the problem i am getting is this: when i run wpi to test the installers and batch files ive made, instead of running the selected programs it runs unchecked programs randomly and/or trys to install them twice....

now im pretty sharp but this is a little f$%ed and i cant figure out why.

i have noticed that the programs i select are placed first....

I AM testing this by creating an ISO and mounting it, but this shouldnt mess it up, right?

Which version of WPI are you using?

newest 4.3.8...

also, when you have hit the button to install and the list of programs that will install is up; sometimes it will skip over a program, other times it will run it....

One thing I see right off is the fact that you have all of those asterisks (*) what is the purpose of those?

Also when it skips an entry this is usually a signal some thing is wrong with the config entry.

Please try renaming all of the entries that contain spaces.

they're actually " (double quotation marks....but i think thats what you meant)

umm they are there so the space in the filename gets recognized....i removed the spaces in any event but i still get the same problems.....

ok,

WINDOWS is officially FCKEd. I rebooted cuz my comp had been running for over a day straight. I tried WPI again, works like it should... Thats friggin windows for ya.....

EDIT:

After i rebooted on like 2 progs it just quit without installing them....Deleted them and re-added them and they work now....

I beleive i know what caused it (the orig prob) too, at one point all my programs started installing and i didnt want them to. I ended the rundll32 task (from task mgr process list) (which is the thing running all the installs) which made all the que'd installs stop....i think this termination of the installer is what made if **** up....although i dont know how.....if anyone wants to try that I would be interested in seeing if that was the prob.
