Whenever I try to connect to a database I get the following error:Warning: mysql_pconnect(): Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES) in c:\program files\apache group\apache\htdocs\installtestdbconnect.php on line 47Failed to establish a database connection.Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES)Using apache 1.3.27php 4.3.2and sql 3.something...I tried it with 4.0 but there was a post about someone having problems with it and to stick to the older version so I rolled back to that version and it still doesnt work... any ideas? T.I.A.
Aaron Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 I had the same exact error when I was using the new MySQL 4.0 when installing IPB 1.1. But you seem to be getting it on 3.x as well... Is MySQL 4.0 completely removed, including the services? It's probably trying to connect to that.

gamehead200 Posted July 18, 2003 Posted July 18, 2003 I had the same problem with 3.x...Try doing a system restore (on XP) to the last time you installed 4, then install 3.x...Dunno if this helps...If it doesn't, REFORMAT!
