l3lueMage
I was wondering is it possible to get xbox360 to be modded so then it runs like a normal PC? Install and run windows and any other programs? It would be quite awsome if it did, because then it would be like a superPC...for only $350 instead of a couple thousand Has it been done yet if possible? And does anyone know any cool modifications to 360 you can do?
Plamdi
Well, you can certainly install linux. What you'd want to be able to do to use it as a PC is put it in a desktop case, add a DVD burner and install a larger HDD. Fun.
At0mic
No because its IBM PowerPC based CPU doesn't have an x86 or x64 instruction set. If it did, it still couldn't run Windows. Just like the original XBox couldn't run Windows even though it had an Intel Celeron 733. However, somebody did run Windows inside a virtual pc type environment on the original XBox on top of Linux. There's no reason why you cant run a moded Linux on the XBox 360 and then run Windows using Xen.Of course, you will have to wait until a compatible Linux distro gets made first. I believe somebody has already managed to mod the 360.
Aegis
You might be able to run MacOS . I think that the PowerPC architecture is used by OS-X and there's a mod out there somewhere to enable MacOS to run on stuff other than Apple hardware.
