My 200GB SCSI HD thinks he is only 16,8 GB?

He, I have formatted my server. There are 3 SCSI harddiscs from 200GB each in my server.

I have installed Windows 2003 and formatted them to NTFS.

The only strange thing is that the server says that there are 3 SCSI harddiscs from 16,8 GB each.

Does anybody know how I can resolve this problem

Are you sure you have installed the right SCSI drivers?

I've never heard of a 200GB SCSI drive. SCSI drive sizes pretty much follow a doubling standard:

4GB (varies from 4, 4.3 and the occassional 4.5)

9GB (usually 9.1GB)

18GB (18.1 and 18.2GB)

36GB

73GB

146GB

300GB

Are your drives connected to a SCSI RAID controller?

Thanx all for the help. You are right. The are 73GB each , It was more a example..

Iám not sure if the drivers are up te date. I am also not sure if the server is using a RAID controller but I don’t thinks so.

When I start my server the follow lines are displayt.

Adaptec AIC=7890 SCSI Bios v25701

1 xxx

2 xxx

3 xxx

4 xxx

Adaptec AIC=7880 SCSI Bios v25701

5 xxx

6 xxx

7 xxx

8 xxx

xxx means cdrom/ scsi controller scsi disks etc.

How can I check if the drivers are installed correctly. I don’t see an error if I go to the system properties.

Maybe it are some stupid questions but I’m really new to SCSI.

Windows Server 2003 has built in drivers for those controllers.

You shouldn't be having a problem unless the controllers are configured incorrectly. Go into the setup for each one and set it back to the defaults (there should be an option).
