Unwonted Posted July 4, 2003 Posted July 4, 2003 I'm having difficulty finding software that will take snapshots of AVIs that I have. WinDVD Platinum claims it can take snapshots, but will not do it for AVI files. Do you know of any program that will do this? Hitting PrtScrn doesn't work. It just makes a black area when I try to paste it in PaintShop pro. Also, programs like SnagIt don't do any better.
ThA_FiLeR Posted July 4, 2003 Posted July 4, 2003 theres several apps that'll do it, think one of em is called like HyperSnap or HyperDX, forgot, something like that, then enable it to capture overlay, somewhere in options...
Unwonted Posted July 4, 2003 Author Posted July 4, 2003 I tried Hypersnap, like you said, but to no avail Maybe it just doesn't happen. Lots of neat options in it though!EDIT: Wait! "Capture overlay?"/me checks on this. will get back to you.
ThA_FiLeR Posted July 4, 2003 Posted July 4, 2003 Well, when you goto the options theres all kinds that it should capture, just check all of em and it should do...
Crispy Posted July 4, 2003 Posted July 4, 2003 Handy, If you have a Radeon 9500/9700 you might want to check out the ATI video player. It has a nice feature that uses DirectX 9.0 shaders to improve the quality of DivX video content! ... and it can take shots of AVI files too
Birgitte Posted July 4, 2003 Posted July 4, 2003 Virtual Dub can also do it. It has a feature where you mark a sertain section of the movie and then you can save that section as jpg .. But it saves every frame so if you mark just 5 secs you get a whole lot of pictures lol
Crispy Posted July 4, 2003 Posted July 4, 2003 Virtual Dub can also do it.Ya, virtualdub rules! Its fast, free and ease of use is amazing! ... Ya can get it here:http://www.virtualdub.com/
sedative Posted July 4, 2003 Posted July 4, 2003 You don't need any of that. Play the movies in WMP and turn off video acceleration. You'll then be able to take screenshots.
Unwonted Posted July 4, 2003 Author Posted July 4, 2003 All these suggestions are excellent! I've tried each one, and they all work nicely. Thanks a lot, guys
