ripken204 Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 my xp is installed on the f: drive and whenever i want to install a program,by default it want to be installed on the c: driveis there a reg key that will let me change this to the f: drive?
N1K Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Note:promising this won't have unwanted side effects...it might be better to just designate your install locations manually. But here it goes...Go to registry:Navigate to:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersionOn the right side, find the string called ProgramFilesDir and modify it to the desired path.
