saralvr247 Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Ok, I have a HUGE problem. I was messing around with nLite, made a thing in it on my desktop, had some folders on my desktop, I clicked remove those folders in nLite, thinking it would not have them be in the finished thing, and when I went to finish the thing, the folders disappeared from my desktop. I REALLY need them back.
saralvr247 Posted March 19, 2006 Author Posted March 19, 2006 Sorry, im a newb to the program, never used it b4. Like make a new cd in nLite? That would put the folders back on my desktop? From what I see using Recover My Files (program) it actually deleted the folders and everything in it. I had a project that I JUST finished last night, and took me a month to do. I feel kinda sick...
BoardBabe Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 (edited) You should probably try get some good recovery application and try recover your deleted files. TRY NOT TO STORE ANY NEW FILES, DELETE MORE ETC. If your files are extremly important, you should not even use your computer and hand over your hard-drive to a recovery company, they will be able to recover your files.I recently had a crucial backup disk die on me, and recovered quite a few important files using GetDataBack for NTFS, however here the filesystem was corrupted.Sounds to me that your files are deleted, but most likely not yet overwritten in the filesystem and therefore they should be recoverable... Keep in mind that most commersial recovery programs SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCES the chance of recovering important files for companies that recover manually. So if you plan on getting a company to manually recover your files I'd recommend not using any commersial recovery applications.
