If you haven't run a Windows Live Safety Center scan on your PC lately, you may not know about some of the new features we've added. Protecting your PC and improving its performance are now easier than ever.

Registry cleaner

The Windows Live Safety Center's clean up scan checks your registry, finds any invalid data, and helps you remove it.

Spyware detection and removal

Now, in addition to scanning for and helping rid your PC of viruses, the Windows Live Safety Center's protection scan locates and helps you remove spyware and other potentially unwanted software.

Help protect a friend's PC with Windows Live Messenger

The scanner in Messenger works just like the scanner on the Windows Live Safety Center site. You'll both be able to see what the scanner is doing each step of the way and communicate via Messenger while it's running.

Join the fight against malware

The Windows Live Safety scanner is a powerful tool, and you can help make it even stronger. The scanner locates and removes items it knows to be viruses and other unwanted programs. But now it will also identify suspicious files—items on your PC that could be malicious software ("malware")—and ask whether you'd like to submit those files to Microsoft for further investigation. (Any personal information is kept private, of course.) Reporting suspicious files helps everyone stay safer online and helps us improve the scanner for your future use.

I really like the Registry Cleaner feature on it. Windows knows better than anyone what should be removed and how exactly Windows registry works. This should be good...! :)
