Unattended Install from floppy with a twist...

Recommended Posts

Ok, here's the deal... I have to boot from a floppy and install xp on a clean formatted hard drive with an unattended with NO user input/interaction. Like the floppy MUST be in the computer the whole time and you cannot boot from the CD. Currently, I have a bootable floppy set up that works fine, kinda...

The install is stuck in an endless loop where it copies the files, restarts, and boots from the floppy again just to recopy the files over. Now scripting something into the floppy that tells it to start a program or something else is not a problem, the problem is what command to start?!

In DOS, is there anyway to start the BOOTSECT.DAT or .DOS file? Or is there anyway to continue the installation process?

Before you ask/tell, I HAVE TO have the floppy in the drive the whole time and I cannot use a modified XP CD.

Is this even possible?

Thanks,

Nate
