papster_kat Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Hi Guys, I seem to be having trouble with a Sony Microvault USB stick: I plug it in and the found new device wizard finds the device, but when trying to browse to it through my computer or explorer it can not be accessed. The PC has never been on a network, I have tried updating the drivers, safe mode, but still no joy. Its almost as of it has been locked down or something, It was lent to a friend recently and since then it has had these problems. Any ideas ? (i really need to get the data off of it !)ThanksTitle Edited - Please follow new posting rules from now on.--Zxian
ranjit jacob Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 are you using it for the 1st time, if yes you can get into computer management and select disk management, once you are there you can try a format and this should recoconize ur thumb drive....

Can you mount it from disk management? You could also try one of the disk recovery programs mentioned before (search these forum threads), but of course if the device is physically damaged then you're not going to have much success.
