i looked up on dr. hoiby site about tray in 256 color, and want to hex explorer by myself, found this thing

Check if your explorer.exe version is 5.0.3700.6690

and the problem is my explorer is 5.0.3900.6920, will this hex code works?

so long as those strings are still the same then it should work fine, i have hex edited my winrar 3.50 the same way as the old 3.42 so that i could resource hack it and add bigger toolbar icons without having to use a theme.
