 I am a newbie. Yesterday I made my first unattended Windows XP SP 2 w/hotfixes CD and wooohooo it worked on first try. Then today I added drivers to the CD...again it worked. Now I am trying to figure out how to add apps to the CD. I looked in the forums and I even printed out all the instructions off the original website and have been following them step by step and now I'm stuck....I found a link in the forum that gave really good instruction on how to do unattended app installs using the runonceex.cmd. After I read that I was excited and my first app was going to be Acrobat Reader 7.0.7. I looked up the switches for it and I didn't recognize the syntax everyone was using and some were talking about extracting and such...needless to say I am so confused right now and if anyone could point me in the right direction on how to do unattended app installs I would be forever grateful.

Thanks in advance!

These are actually all the apps I want to install and if you foresee that I may have problems with them please tell me

my personal opinion is that acrobat is hard for a beginner

try to start from some easy program (for example 7-zip or winrar)

check this link Application Database

it has guides for some progs you could start from there

then when you understant some things go to acrobat

check post #4 here for acrobat

Thank you so much for your guidance and I really appreciate it but out of the following apps which would be an easy one to start off with. I forgot to add these to my previous post.

Acrobat Reader 7.0.7

AVG antivirus 7

Java

Media Player 10

Office 2003

Quicktime

Real Player

Shockwave

FlashPlayer

SMS Client

These are all the common apps that I would like to include on the CD.

for mediaplayer 10 you can add the addon cab from Ryanvm's site with nlite

try to search in nlite forum for addons for your programs

java i thing is good to start

read the guides in the database link i gave you

do some search inside application installs forum and you'll find out how

you can try MHZ's cmenu here download it , install it

then right click on the setup of the program you want to install silently

and go to more options\installer tools\identify installer

this will show you switchess for some of the progs NOT for all

but you could be lucky and find them all with this

well... good luck :D

i hope these will help you to understant and to do something

To get switch, try "software".exe /? to have the infos. In some cases it works. Also try the webpage of the software

Adobe Reader 7.0.7:

AdbeRdr707_fr_FR.exe /S /v/qn

Java:

jre-1_5_0_06-windows-i586-p.exe /L1036 /s /v"/qn ADDLOCAL=ALL IEXPLORER=1 MOZILLA=1 REBOOT=Suppress JAVAUPDATE=0 /L C:\logs\java1506.txt"

(1036 is for my language => French)

WMP10:

MP10Setup.exe /q:A /c:\"setup_wm.exe /Q /R:N /DisallowSystemRestore"

Flash, download the latest version from macromedia website. It's unattend when you launch it (flash_player_8.0.22.0.exe)

Real player and quicktime, I use Real and Quicktime Alternative.
