directx 9c error

I have three games i have been trying to play for like 3 days now and cant seem to get them to work i keep getting this error (this application has failed to start because D3DX9_27.DLL was not found. reinstaling the application may gid of the problem, i have tried reinstalling multiple times to no avail. then when i tried to install lord of the rings the battle for middle earth 2 it wouldnt let me install until i installed directx 9c when i tried a soon as i tried to install it flashed on the screen all components installed and ready for use but when i ran dxdiag it still showed 9b as being the installed version. i have been tearing my hair out trying to fix this i really dont know that much about computers so ive been doing the best i can so if any one can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

ps: i am curently runing xp sp2 not fully updated because the last time i updated i blue screened so if there is a way around it with out getting fully updated that would be great

directx 9c updates , your gonna just have to install DX9 from one of these games thats not working

Unless you've done some hacking you should have DX 9c already because XP SP2 installs it automatically.

Try the Feb 2006 DirectX Redistributable.
