boxoman Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I have my installation of xp pro on cd. I have added all the hotfixes and programs to it and now the installation will not fit on a CD. So i was going to use a dvd. I cannot use the boot image from the origional disk because it is for a cd, and nero says its the wrong type of image for a dvd. is there a way to make, or find, a boot image for a windows xp dvd?thanks for any help, boxoman
BoardBabe Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I never had that problem and running on 3gig+ dvd, extracted boot img from hologram disk.
boxoman Posted March 7, 2006 Author Posted March 7, 2006 (edited) thanks for the quick reply,do you need a certain type of boot image for a certain type of installation. like... do i need a windows type boot image to boot the windows installation? or can i just use a generic boot image?could i use your dvd boot image?if not, how did you extract the image from your cd to include on your dvd?boxomanedit: i have tried with both nLite and magicIso to create a bootable disk, neither has worked with nero. it keeps telling me that the media required for this compilation (.iso file) is a CD/CD-RW. not a DVD Edited March 8, 2006 by boxoman
