Raymo853 Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Is it possible to replace XP x64 with the old 32 bit version. I bought a new dell precision 380 with x64 and eveything is great, except one must have application. (A soil erosion app written years ago by people now dead) I tried to install XP Pro but it fails and gives a BSOD. I assume it depends on your system, but am not sure. My processor is a Pentium D 830.
suryad Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 You can replace if you mean doing a fresh reinstall with XP 32 bit instead of 64 bit.
Raymo853 Posted February 13, 2006 Author Posted February 13, 2006 (edited) I was trying to do a fresh install and the installed was just failing. I am not sure why, hardware, bad CD or whatever. I did come up with an easy solution. Give this grad student my old P4 workstation and take her new P-D 830 computer as mine. Not nice but the easy solution. Edited February 13, 2006 by Raymo853
