Walks_Tall Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Hi, I'm having a bit of a problem. My daughter has a old pc with windows 98 on it ( No win 98 CD's )..I have got Windows 2000 Pro. ( OS CD ).. I would like to remove or somehow Install Win 2000 Pro. on it.. I have some exp. w/ this but not sure bout removing Win 98 without the CD's... Would anyone have suggestions or send me some documentation on it. Would be much greatful..... Sincerely, Walks_Tall
awergh Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 you can use a bootdisk to go into dos and just type format C:to wipe the disk and you can just intsall 2000 over the topthere is no reason why you should need the 98 cd to do thisgo to http://www.bootdisk.com/ if you need a bootdisk
dirtwarrior Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Boot off the windows 2000 CD. Reformat to NTFS and use the entire C: and you will be alright.dirt
