BoardBabe Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Is there a way to launch photoshop/Illustrator in some sort of safe-mode (not loading plugins/fonts etc) or any tweaks to have it load fast?I would like to automate the registration (legally ofcourse), but that load only needs the app to run, no extras.
BoardBabe Posted January 29, 2006 Author Posted January 29, 2006 Thank you for your reply jcarle, though I was thinking more of software wise solutions, like disabling plugins for Photoshop by adding ~ (tilde) to the folders inside Plug-Ins dir, removing fonts etc.
TravisO Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 I've been a Photshop user for 10yrs and I've never heard of a safe mode.jcarle has it right, the faster the hard drive the better, thats the only cure I know of.
BoardBabe Posted January 29, 2006 Author Posted January 29, 2006 (edited) Ok, well then I'm on my own hehe.A manual "no-plugins" mode for photoshop is explained above, renaming plugins to ~* with batch or similar, will make photoshop boot fast.As for illlustrator moving the following dirs out of Plug-ins folder will give you a "safe-mode" like launch.Illustrator FiltersPhotoshop EffectsPhotoshop FiltersPhotoshop FormatsText FiltersToolsAlso for both apps reducing number of installed fonts on system will boost the app launch.TOPIC CLOSED- Please do not reply.
