Cal2002
was it a clean install of windows, or an upgrade install?
vcant
you probably installed some kind of adware by accident....you should run AdAware, ill get you the link
vcant
ok, here it is, download this program, install it,this will find all the adware on you computer an remove itlinkbtw, if you running Kazaa, and not Kazza Lite, this program can screw it, so just install Kazaa Lite (if at all)

XPerties
do what aaron said before you install anything else. They are called NET sends, based on messenger service running in windows. Don't confuse it with MSN messenger. They are not the same.
beccatigger
cheers Aaron and XPerties. BTW, erm what other services depend on it? Does it stop it telling you there's new upgrades available etc.?
vcant
im not sure what services depend on it, but definetly nothing important, and it has nothing to do with Windows Updates, so basicly it stops the really anoying adds
XPerties
basically it was set up for companys to send messenges within a network. But the spammers use it to annoy people. It does not effect anything else by turning it off. Just stops the annoying net sends.read about it a little more here. They send it using your IPhttp://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/...cs/net_send.asp
