jbmx4life Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 Ok, I have come to my wits end with trying to get this to work. What I am trying to do is get the most up-to-date copy of Win XP Pro w/ SP2. By that I mean that I want just about any and all updates ever available to be included during the install. Is this even possible or feesible?? If this is possible I would greatly appreciate any help or even if there is someone that already has this. I have tried this with a couple of different programs already and have failed miserably at all of them in some way shape or form. I don't know how it is possible when the program does it for you but it just doesn't end up working out for me. Another thing is..... when I use one of the install CD's that I have created then it is constantly prompting me that some of the files installed are the wrong version or something. That is extremely annoying when your trying to re-install everything after doing a new build or when a re-install of a hosed OS is needed.TIA,J
Jeremy Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 Use nLite and RyanVM's Update Pack v2.0.2a. Remove some bloat and update your source files directly, than make a bootable ISO, burn, install. Cheers.
TheFlash428 Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Here is what I do...Download the latest RyanVM update pack--this will get you very close to a fully updated version.(I would include a link, but the site looks down at the moment(?)--I'll update later if I can, a google search will get you where you need to go).Download the latest version of NLite--you can integrate services packs and the RyanVM update pack directly using NLite, as well as create you own custom install.http://www.nliteos.com/If you are getting errors on your current disk, you may want to start over with a fresh customization--but I have seen errors like this when using bad CD-ROM drives and/or defective hard drives. The last thing I do is install BTS driver packs, which will prevent you from having to search from drivers once your install is complete--they have worked great for me, and saved me a lot of headaches. You won't be able to do this if you have NLite create the bootable ISO for you, so you will have to have NERO or some burning software that you can use to create your own bootable CD-ROM once the driver packs have been applied.http://www.driverpacks.net/Anyway, more great info can be found in the Unattended section of the forums here.
