system 32 opens on start up

After log in using administrator level user C:\WINDOWS\system 32 opens unprompted. How do I stop this?

Running xp pro with sp2. Does ot open system 32 if I login as a different user.

Is the folder in the Startup folder of the Start Menu?

If not, download Autoruns from http://www.sysinternals.com and see what's starting when your Admin user logs in - could be a startup item (most likely is).

Sounds like spyware or a virus. Scan with NOD32/Avast/Kaspersky for viruses. Scan with M$ AntiSpyware/Spybot/Ad-Aware SE for spyware. Might not be the problem but might resolve problems you don't know you have.
