aquapc Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Hi...I've installed Window Vista 5270 on a VM v5, in a WinXP home host PC. After so many trial and error, I've managed to have Vista running smoothly (well almost... 'cept the Network part).Since nothing happened w/ VMware tools network adapter. I've changed the Network adapter from VMware network adapter to AMD PCNET Family Ethernet Adapter (PCI). My connection setting for my network adapter is NAT (host's shared IP).I can now connect to the internet fine. But I can't get it to share anything between Vista and the host PC. I can see the stuff on my network place (from the host machine) but I can't access it thru Vista. And yet I can't see Vista network stuff in my Network place thru my host PC. As if its almost there and yet too far still to really get in touch.Plus, my connected indicator icon is all 'x'-ed out and telling me there's no way I should be connected online right now w/c is a bit confusing since I'm working this post right at this very moment. I do have the online connectivity but somehow it doesn't sense it enough. Can anyone please help me get this network see each other from Vista and the host PC (vice-versa)? And get them openly share. I would really appreciate any help.Thanks.
Sonic Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Vista works with IPv6 too ... if just IPv4 is ready, system says there no activity but in fact all are okay. For sharing folder, I havn't problem, I can access to the host and I can access to Vista virtual machine, I have shared a folder and I have set permissions with a new user and new password , guest sharing seems to be inactive (I have installed Server Longhorn 5270 ...)
