loopmax Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 I have around 4000 workstations, which some are possibly WOL enabled and some not. I have joined with the organisation about six month ago so I have to do some clean up work. My question is there a tool that will give me the status of WOL enable or Disable? And Is there a tool that I can configure WOL ? (Preferably virtual floppy method)Many thanks in advance.

Shark007 Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 WOL is a MOTHERBOARD BIOS setting and the associated NIC must have its own BIOS chip with the WOL option also. Many NIC's have a separate wire that needs to be connect to the motherboard to enable the WOL option on the card itself. Since the WOL is turned on/off thru BIOS, each computer will need to be dealt with individually.shark
