Is HFSLIP RIS Friendly?

I've been running remote installations of hfslipped sources on my RIS server for the last few weeks, without errors. However, instead of using the add utility I just copy the appropriate folders to the share point and add/edit an sif file to change the image name/description. As far as I can tell, this has not adversely affected my installations and I'm not experiencing the errors above.

I haven't been able to find any official documentation supporting this approach(although ibm seem to think it will work), but I also haven't seen anything to explain why it shouldn't work. It might be worth a go for those of you trying to work round these issues though?
