[Help] - Problem with links in IE

Recommended Posts

When I click on a link that's supposed to open a new browser window, nothing happens. If I right click on it and choose "copy shortcut" and paste it in the address field of the current browser, nothing happens. If I paste it into another browser window (still IE), it works. I've seen other people post similar questions, but I've never seen a solution.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Yeah, I already did that, and as long as the subject has been brought up...

Pages display a fair bit smaller on Fierfox. Is there some way to control that so they display a bit bigger?

For now I'm still using IE til I have a chance to take a good look at Firefox.

Thanks

what do you mean "smaller"?

if you mean the font sizes, sure you can change it: tools > options > content > fonts and colors (thats the path for FF 1.5 - may be a bit different in earlier releases).

after trying FF for the first time, i myself went right back to IE. finally i made the switch however and after giving it a good shot, there's NO turning back!

please see my post here for more helpful info.

Go to Start > run, and type regsvr32 urlmon.dll, then click OK.

You ought to get a 'registration succeeded' dialog box.

Now reboot, and tell us whether it works again.

regards

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that, but it didn't change anything. I did get the "registration succeeded" dialog box.

you said you had FF installed at one point. did you check to see if IE is the default browser?

also, check the file associations (explorer.exe > tools > folder options > file types)...

internet shortcut

htm

html

url

i'm not really good with this stuff, but maybe that will help.
