aittersu Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Hi,When i install Windows XP sp2 on a laptop (Maxdata 8100 IS) i receive an error at the 39 minutes fase during GUI setup:The file 'Asms' on Windows XP Professional CD-ROM is needed. Type the path where the file is located, and then click OK. I already copied the directory I386\ASMS from my netword installation directory to the laptop and after that the installation continues normally, but in the end I found out that it skipped a lot of files during the Copy-phase and the installation (RunOnceEx-part etc) does not finish correctly.I already installed lots of other computers from the same network directory, those all work fine.Anyone familiar with this ASMS problem? The laptop does have Bluetooth, can it be that this has something to do with the problem?Regards,Alexander
druiddk Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I have had this problem before a few times when i applied BTS driverpacks and then afterwards changed some files on the CD.I solve this by taking a clean XP cd, nLite it, copy in my $OEM$ folder, run BTS driverpack and then copy in my winnt.sif
