Soulgolem
Hello, I think my freeze ups are due to my vidéo card, so I thought i'd test my system without it, my motherboard "ASUS P4S533-VM" has a port to plug a CRT monitor, but nothing happens when i plug my monitor to it... I don't have another video card to make the test... Any ideas how i could check if my video card is the real problem ?Thanks.Francis.
spapps
just get yourself another video card, a basic one or strip it out from another box, make sure it will work for your motherboard, and boot it up with it.Some motherboards have jumper settings to enable onboard video - but these days they are jumperfree. Check the manual, it should tell you.Sometimes when switching on the PC and using onboard video, keep pressing the Insert button, or i think the Home or End key - doing this can FORCE the motherboard to show video using the onboard video - again, check your motherboard manual system freezes can also be caused by bad memory or CPU.
