i've made a custom windows xp installation with OEM folders enabled. the directory structure is as follows:

$OEM$\$Docs\Administrator\Application Data\

i'm trying to copy some files (firefox profile, some settings) onto the new windows installation during setup; but instead in my Documents and Settings folder, i get the following 2 folders:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data << with my firefox/uTorrent settings in it and nothing else;

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.PC1\Application Data << PC1 is the computer name, and windows is using THAT folder to log me in...

is there any way to avoid this duplication?

In a word... no. At least not that I am aware of. What I ended up doing was an xcopy of the appropriate file structure once the profile folders had been created. The end result is the same, there's just one more step along the way.

Need to Sort your computer name out? Sometimes easier to set up as one (main) administrator to start with.

I could be wrong, but you must be naming your computer that way in the ans file/winnt.sif or useraccounts.cmd called from cmdlines.txt?

With the firefox profiles/settings etc, this has been explained many times in SOF & many other places on this board.

I usually save my profiles & sfx them to the new installation & works well every time.

i'm actually using nLite

It doesn't really matter what method you use. Windows by default has an administrator. If you create Administrator.PC1 it will Not replace "Administrator" that is where your duplicated folders are coming from.

As I mentioned earlier your probably better off using the default administrator acount untill you gain enough knowledge. Then simply rename or add a user once window setup finishes if required.
