set the TCP/IP "alternate configuration" per script?

Does anybody know how to set the "alternate configuration" of TCP/IP per script?

As far as I found out, there is no way to saet it with netsh!

Maybe anybody here had/has the same problem here?

u can use netsh to do the trick.... and vbscripting (WMI). For netsh it is the interface context u have to use;

netsh interface ip add address <>

netsh interface ip add dns <>

but this is not what I am looking for, I want to set the alternate configuration, I don´t want to change the IP!

and therefore I need a script to have this configuration when I set up my PC with a unattended CD ;-)

the Windows XP SP2 Deployment tools (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=3E90DC91-AC56-4665-949B-BEDA3080E0F6&displaylang=en)

have a program (setupmgr.exe) which can be used to make a custom winnt.sif file. i believe you can set the alternate config via that program

good idea Psycho, but no, you cannot set the alternate configuration with setupmgr.exe

hopefully anybody here will be able to solve that problem!
