December 30, 200520 yr I have two desktops. To make it easy lets call them desktop1 and desktop2.Right now my desktop1 computer can see the desktop2, and can share files from the desktop2 that I have designated as to share. When I am on the desktop2 and click on My Network Places I can't see the desktop1 shared folders. I then click on view workgroup computers and it does list the desktop1 computer. when I double click that computer I get a permissions error and to contact the administrator (that would be me of course).I "pinged" the desktop1 and all packages were received. Is there something I need to change on the desktop1 or desktop2, do i need to install the network again? I've actually tried that but still the same thing comes up so maybe I'm missing something. If anyone and the same problem and actually came up with a solution please share.Thanks,pcbo. December 30, 200520 yr Are both systems running Windows XP? If yes, is one Home and the other Professional or both Pro/Home?Also, are you using a router to connect the two computers or a crossover cable? If you are running Windows XP Pro on both computers, is Simple File Sharing turned on or off?BTW, you might want to search the forum. This issue has been addressed before.

This issue has been addressed before. Both OS are XP Pro and I am using one router and one accesspoint to connect the two computers(the router doesn't reach desktop1 so I had to implement an accesspoint in the middle).Simple File Sharing is turned on.Thanks.pcbo.
