Missing My Document files

Featured Replies

I was copying CD's to My Documents folder and sometime during the this process I went to go to another file under My Documents and to my surprise I had no files listed except the My Music files I had been working on. I have tried to do a system restore to retrieve the lost files but even that did not restore the missing files. Is there a diagnostic program that will find and fix my problem. By the way, I am using ME with Mozilla firefox internet browser.

There are actually a few free tools to recover lost files :

DataRecovery : http://tokiwa.tomato.ne.jp/EN/dr.html

Drive Rescue : http://www.woundedmoon.org/win32/driverescue19d.html

Be aware that when you lose a file and want to recover it, you should cease using your disk immediately if it's on the system drive as to avoid to overwrite the lost data. Also don't install those tools on the drive you want to recover the data from for the same reason.

Good luck.
