Hey..how would i be able to download msn messenger 9 on windows 98 cuz it doesn't seem to download!

i'm having problems installing msn messenger 6.0 it always ends up saying: msn messenger setup failed. Please go to the MSN messenger web site and download the software from there. well i did!! and it still doesn't work. could any1 help me out? thnx

Do you guys have Windows Installer v2.0 installed?

It's installed if it isn't listed on WindowsUpdate (I think...)

I also have a same problem on WindowME. It's always show "Please go to the MSN messenger web site and download the software from there"

Install the Win98/ME Windows Installer v2.0 package, reboot, then install MSN Messenger 6.

A tip: Download all updates from Windows Update in future, weekly. (The Windows Installer 2.0 is listed there!)
