media player 6.4 in XP

hi

I want to use windows media player 6.4 in XP becose i like this media player more then the one in xp i only watch movies and do not play music in windows media player.

I'm having the problem to uninstall the media player in xp and i'm having problems finding a version of windows media player 6.4 which i can install in windows xp and use.

u dont need to install anthing to get the media player. goto Start>>Run>>"mplayer2". type mplayer2 and hit enter.

yes but that is not the old media player that is still media player 8 or something.

so how do i uninstall the build in version?

well i kinda found a way to do that so that's kinda solved now the only thing is how to remove version 8 ?

Have you tried media player classic?

you can find it at

it seems very similar to media player 6.4 - even the version numbering is the same

seems to work fine on xp....
