[Question] - Reformattiing one HDD but not the other...

I was wondering if I can reformat my primary hard drive leaving my secondary HDD unerased. Or do I have to reformat both of them if I want to reinstall Windows XP? Help much appreciated.

You don't have to format any partition, even the one, you want to install Xp on. So normally, when I install Xp, I format the partition, On which I install XP and leave the others untouched...

Yes you can format just 1 disk, even just 1 partion on a disk (for example, the first partion called C:\ )

A filles on the other disk or partion will work as soon as you have rinstalled the right aditional software like Office, Media Player or Acrobat read, (and whatever else you had installed befor).

note: You can not mess with the other partions or diskdrives,

do not: 'format', 'change size' or 'delete' other than: 'C:\' to reinstall windows

Okay thanks because it would make it easier for me to just transfer all of my needed files to the other HDD while reformating the other one.
