Also when I go into power options in control panel If I enable hibernation and close the power options and go back into it its disabled again. All ACPI options are enabled in my BIOS. December 7, 200520 yr Author Yes, There is plenty of free space, about 70GB! And I am mainly needing to get the Standby option back. But hibernation would also be nice.
December 7, 200520 yr Check to make sure that you have the latest video drivers. If you do, uninstall and reinstall them. The video drivers are what allow you to enter standby and hibernation, so if they've become corrupt, then you might end up with the problem you describe.
December 7, 200520 yr Network drivers can keep a machine from being able to power down too - make sure those are the latest version for your laptop.
