HeliumHigh Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 I have happen to be sort of in charge of how we set up a new computer lab. However, there is something special about this particular lab. It is a joint effort between many people, but I seem to be involved slightly in all of it. The most of my worries however, is in the software. We have plenty of useable hardware, all waiting to be reloaded. I have the unattended CD all done, and all I need now is the software. This lab is going to need to be used for for visually impared. What software do you suggest I make room for, or that I might be needing special equipment? I have taken a lot out of my CD, but I can remake it quite quickly. I only took bloat and graphics stuff out, but nothing about accesibility and useability. What can you guys suggest for me?
cluberti Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 Are these people visually impaired, or completely blind? If they're blind folks, you need to take into account the space required by the hardware that will likely need to be used to read the screen, and the software related to that hardware. There are some different vendors making different products, so you may need to ask whomever is responsible for the hardware exactly what they plan on using, and whom you can contact (vendor-wise) about the software.
