jaffer Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Hi everyone,I have a network at home. On PC 1, i have a printer attached (LPT1). I have setup PC 2 to share the printer on PC 1. I have a D-Link 704P router with a printer server, but i dont use the print server. The above works fine. Now, im trying to allow someone to print over the internet. So if someone prints from their PC, i want it to be picked up from my PC. Is it possible to do that with Win XP?Thanks,AJTitle Edited - Please follow new forum rules from now on-- Martin L
Asin Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 So you want essentially the same functionality as a fax machine but free long distance calling for each fax?
Zxian Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Have a look at Hamachi. It's a freeware application that creates a virtual LAN over the internet. No port forwarding to deal with, no nothing. Once you've got that installed on both computers and they're on the same channel, you should be able to access each others' shares (including shared printers).
