Nakatomi2010 Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 I'm trying to fine tune a few things on m end, and I was wondering..I'd like to install Xpize on the MCE 2005 machine I'll be building soon, but I want to keep the background and stuff from MCE 2005... I still want the icon enhancements, and .dll fixes, but I'd like the background and general theme to be the MCE 2005 default...Is all I need to do simply add the /noskins command, or would it be easier to just no install Xpize?
Martijn Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 You can select what you want to install (or not) in the installer.
Nakatomi2010 Posted November 28, 2005 Author Posted November 28, 2005 Well, I'm using WPI so I'd like to know which command to use so I don't need the installer to pop up....
Zxian Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Have you read the release thread? All the switches are listed there!
Nakatomi2010 Posted November 29, 2005 Author Posted November 29, 2005 I know what the switches are, what I'm asking if it's the right switch to do what I want it to do....
Zxian Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 The switches are perfectly described in the main thread.Silent switch: /S (this switch is case sensitive)/noskins <---no skins installedTo make it simple, run:xpize.exe /S /noskins
Nakatomi2010 Posted November 29, 2005 Author Posted November 29, 2005 I was asking for a comfimation that that would do what I want it to do...It takes about 2 hours to make a new image everytime I make a change, and if I'm going to spend 2 hours to burn an image because of a single line of code, I would like to be sure it's accurate...All I was looking for was "Yes, the /noskins command will not install the wallpaper and stuff like you don't want it to"
Zxian Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 For testing, you can just run a VM and install/uninstall XPize with the various switches to see which one gives you the result you want. It'll save you a lot of time rather than building a new image each time and burning it to disk as well.
