just got a new wireless adapter, zew2500p. and for some reason, it is recognizing that my netgear router is there, but it wont/cant connect to it for some reason. ive tried a bunch of different drivers too...

i would try the following:

1) drivers like u said

2) make sure there is no encryption on the WAP until u can definatly connect to it

3) give yourself a static IP in the same range

also i had this wierd problem once where i couldnt connect to a WAP and found that if i opened the TCP/IP properties of the wireless connection and simply looked through all the tabs and pages and settings etc it connected... there was no way to explain this but it worked so maybe give that a go? possibl it was a bug with he WAP

ive done 1 and 3. as for 2, how do i check that? i know that the router doesnt have an encription on it, but does the adaptor?

the router also recognizes that the adaptor is there

fixed it, i forgot that a while back i made it so that my router would only accept mac addressess that i told it to b/c one of my neighbors got wireless...

oh right lol.....and always check that you havent got MAC filtering on
