Some Scanners have API Functions built into them... You'll have togo onto the manufacturers site and try and find a developers document or something...

Yes you can, if using Windows XP search for WIA (Windows Imaging Aquisition) or TWAIN if 98 onwards.

Be aware, its not as simple as you may think.

hey thx for the replies,

i did my search and what i need is a twain ocx

but i didn't find any that is freeware

if anyone knows a good site for ocx control where i might

find such thing, please let me know

A quick search on PSC for 'twain' returned a few scanner examples. A quick glance shows they use the API calls (twain32.dll) too! Good stuff. I don't think you have to login but if you do it's easy registration. Worth it too. And if you don't wanna register, let me know and I will download it for ya. :)

thx alot dude, i didn't read the code yet but from the description it seems to be just what i want
