Have 4computers on the network. One is Windows 2k3 SP1 Standard server and the other clients are WinXP. On the server there are 2NICs. The first NIC is connected directly to ADSL modem(not router or a hub) and second one is connected to SWITCH which has all 3 client PCs connected. The server's primary function is for Filesharing, ICS, Firewall, Peerguardian, P2P programs, DHCP&DNS Server

What kind of tweaks should I apply to the server for maximum performance?

SPECS:

DURON 1600MHZ

512DDR

HITACHI 250GB 7200RPM 8MB ATA HDD

NIC 100Mb

there are some things we would need to know first. How fast is the network?(10,100,1000) is it a switch that connects them or a hub? how fast is the server?(cpu, HD, NIC) all these things could play a part in speeding up the network, is the network seem to bog down at any particular time? have you tried monitoring the network traffic and such with perfmon or sysmon?

Updated my original post.

I don't have any particular problems with it. I just want to tweak it, to get the best possible performance out it.
