Qustion aout my AMDXP2600+

Hi guys what’s up…… it’s my first post..lol

So my problem is I have an AMD XP2600+ with L2 cash of 512KB processor and installed it on a Abit NV7-133R mother board ..in the book is written that it takes up to XP2200+ ,I downloaded the last update for it so it can support up to 2600+…

My question Is on the box is written that is should operate at 1917Mhz but with me its running at 1808Mhz … I know it’s not that big different but is there any way I can get it to 1917 or higher ….

The processor should run on "auto detect mode" (lets call it like that ) on 1917MHz, it should be fixed by a BIOS update I think but you told us that you did that.

The CPU has a FSB of 333MHz (166MHz DDR) isn’t it, that means that the clock multiplier is set to 11.5x.

You can OC this CPU easily, just start to set the FSB on 350 or so, go up 10MHz each time, if the computer crashes, then set the voltage of the CPU higher or bring down the FSB, with stock cooler you will get 2200GHz easily out of this CPU . Over clocking can do damage to your components, bla, bla bla (have to say it, )

well... look what it shows me unknown CPU ..lol

... and it should show an AMD2600+...

but any way it's working fine .. I’ll leave it like this until my next upgrade B)
