Backup Image Tool with RAID support

Hi,

I'm looking for a Backup tool that supports RAID controllers independent from OS. For example if your OS doesn't boot and you have to restore your system partition in DOS mode.

I have tried well-known tools like Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image. I was able to make an image of my system partition, but I could not recover it from DOS mode, because my RAID controller was not supported.

I'm using a NVIDIA NVRAID controller. My array consists of 2x160GB Samsung SC1614C SATA HDDs in RAID0.

Does anybody know a good solution ?

Before giving up on this, try using BartPE. Create your boot CD from a Windows 2003 CD (possibly slipstreaming SP1??). If your adapter is supported by Win 2003 out of the box, then you will be able to see your array and perform a restore. I have actually done this with Ghost 8 on a Dell PowerEdge with a PERC 4 RAID adapter.

wich version of acronis had you try ?

Acronis True Image server does it :

Support for SAN, NAS, RAID, tape drives, CD/DVD, USB, FireWire, PC Card, network drives and other backup storage
