chandu Posted October 19, 2005 Share Posted October 19, 2005 Hi All,I am facing a strange problem with my windows XP machine today.When I click on the 'Start' -> Programs, nothing gets displayed the programs list to be diplayed is showing empty.But, every thing else works fine. When I go to any programs installation folder in 'Program Files\xxx' directory and run the application, everything works fine.I tried to use the tip mentioned here....http://windowsxp.mvps.org/AllPrograms.htmBut, that is also not working.....Can anyone help me out.... suryad Posted October 19, 2005 Share Posted October 19, 2005 Ho hum did you notice if any of your personal setting in your user account get messed up? I think that could be it. chandu Posted October 19, 2005 Author Share Posted October 19, 2005 I used a tool called 'Registry Compact', but after that also when I restarted the system worked fine. I am getting this problem after one day now...When I right click 'start' and click on 'Open' it is going to the user folder that means it may not be a problem with profile path also....Is there anyway to restore to defaults...
